September 10, 2010 Andersen Window Corporation Plant Tour
Andersen Window Corporation is an international enterprise employing over 9,000 people at more than 20 locations with headquarters in Bayport, Minnesota, a 2.8 million-square-foot facility that covers 65 acres. Andersen annually manufactures more than six million wood windows and doors, with sales worldwide.

Andersen has been a durable goods manufacturer for over one hundred years. This unique Minnesota manufacturer has reduced land filled solid waste at the Bayport facility by 83% since 1990. Today, 99% of all manufacturing materials are beneficially used at Andersen

Andersen is a process manufacturer and during this tour you will see:
*  Start to finish window manufacturing - - raw plank to finished product packaged and ready for shipment.
*  This will be a factory floor tour so you will have a close-up view of the Andersen manufacturing process.
*  You will see many of the Andersen's 11 coating lines including the unique automated process of electrostatic coating of wood products.

A follow-up presentation will be given by an Andersen Finishing Engineer who will specifically review the Andersen coating finishing processes.

11:00 AM                     Lunch with Andersen presentation and Q & A
12:00 PM- 12:30 PM      Estimated close & adjourment

Directions:  Take Rt 95 North off Interstate 94.  Turn right at 4th Avenue.  Park in the Visitor's Lot.  Registration is in the lobby.

NOTICE:
1.  Plant tour will cover a 1 1/2 mile walk.
2.  Closed shoes only - no open toed shoes or sandals allowed.
3.  Andersen reserves the right to prohibit competitive window manufacturers.
4.  If you have safety glasses with side shields, please bring them.
5.  Tour attendees must be at least 16 years old.
6.  Tour is by reservation only.  Per TC-CCAI policy, No-Shows will be billed the tour price since we have to have a set count for the luncheon.
