The Coatings Science Short Course will be held June 2-7. This course is designed to provide a broad overview of the fundamental principles that underlie coatings technology. Dr. Dean Webster, along with department faculty and guest lecturers, will provide comprehensive discussions on coatings science topics including film formation, polymers used in coatings, crosslinking, pigmentation, additives, coatings formulation and coatings performance. Laboratory time in conjunction with the lectures will provide a link between theory and application.

The course’s content is structured to present a balanced educational view of subjects within coatings and corrosion. The course is designed for all levels of scientists and technologists working in the field, some background in college chemistry, including organic chemistry, is recommended.
