Join the Wisconsin CCAI Chapter for a tour of Metalcraft of Mayville in West Bend, WI. This will be a full tour of manufacturing including laser robotic press brake, robotic welding, machine shop, state of the art powder paint system, full assembly of Scag lawn care equipment and Giant Vac Debri removal equipment.
About the tour:
company was established in 1922 as the Peerless Traveling Goods Company with
luggage as its principle product. Gradually, contract sheet metal fabrication
became the company's primary business and the name was changed to Dorst Metalcraft,
Inc in 1958.
Mr. E.A. Gallun Jr. purchased the company in September of 1973. The name was
changed to Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc shortly after Mr Gallun took over. He
constructed a new factory in a new industrial park area in Mayville which was
completed by the end of 1974. The facility, a 60,000 square foot Butler
pre-engineered building with a 6,000 square foot office has been expanded
Today Metalcraft employs over 500 factory and office personnel in two plants.
The original plant has expanded to over 400,000 square feet. The West Bend
plant is 230,000 square feet.
Metalcraft manufactures a wide range of products for many industries including -
construction, agriculture, military, commercial, industrial, forestry,
miningand SCAG outdoor power equipment.
Since 1983, SCAG Power Equipment has manufactured "Simply the Best"
commercial lawn mowers and lawn maintenance equipment money can buy. SCAG Power
Equipment's innovation and attention to quality is known and respected
throughout the industry.
