2012 Minnesota Paint & Powder Coating Expo

Learn about improving the efficiency of industrial finishing operations while maximizing investment returns by attending the Minnesota Paint and Powder Coating Expo 2012.  The Twin Cities Chapter of Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) and the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP) at the University of Minnesota, are hosting the 8th Minnesota Paint and Powder Coating Expo on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota (near St. Paul).

The Expo will include a vendor show, hands-on demonstrations and technical seminars. At the last expo, over 400 participants attended the 15 technical seminars and a vendor show featuring over 50 exhibits.

State & Local Energy Efficiency Action Network Webinars

The State and Local Energy Efficiency Action Network's (SEE Action) Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Working Group invites representatives from states, utilities, manufacturers, and other local stakeholders interested in energy efficiency and CHP to attend its 2012 webinar Series. The webinars will feature expert speakers discussing ways to advance energy efficiency policies and programs, remove barriers, and grow investment in industrial energy efficiency and combined heat and power applications. Following are descriptions of the January, February, and March webcasts.

The Manufacturing Institute and University of Phoenix have come together to help manufacturing employees and students advance professionally and personally with scholarship opportunities that can help individuals earn their degrees at University of Phoenix.

Twenty (20) full-tuition University of Phoenix ® Manufacturing Institute Scholarships will be awared to workers and students hoping to complete their undergraduate or master's degree.  Scholarship recipients may choose to attend University of Phoenix online or at a nearby location.

Eligibility criteria:

 ·         Applicants must be one of the following: Currently employed by a United States manufacturing company; transitioning employee (within the past year), looking to reenter the manufacturing workforce or who might be reconsidering a career change into manufacturing; community college student graduating with a manufacturing-related associate degree prior to June 13, 2012; or a student completing a nationally portable, industry-recognized credential prior to June 13, 2012.

·         Applicants must agree to be a national spokesperson for advanced manufacturing careers, if selected, for the term of the scholarship. This includes, but is not limited to, being highlighted in special communications, e.g. newsletters, media campaigns, and research studies.

·         Applicants must not be currently enrolled nor in the process of enrolling at any University of Phoenix campus or in any online program at any time prior to the scholarship award date. Applicants who enroll after submitting an application or before the scholarship award date are not eligible to be a recipient of this scholarship.

·         Applicants must meet all admissions requirements of the University of Phoenix.

SUR/FIN 2012

The NASF SUR/FIN Show and Manufacturing & Technology Conference will be held in Las Vegas this year.  The event will include both an active show floor and exhibit adn the NASF Manufacturing & Technology Conference.  Conference programming and speaker line-up are being developed.
