Maintenance Manager - Plating Operations / Automotive Systems

exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager in the
plating operation at at their western Michigan HQ location. This
is a brand new position that will support business in the new

You will ensure that plant equipment, facility, and machinery are
running in the most efficient manner and properly maintained.
Specific activities will include:

Manage and direct maintenance personnel, and coordinate the
activities of contract workers and suppliers.

Oversee the training and development plans for all maintenance
personnel.

Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot and resolve production
issues.

Order maintenance parts and maintain appropriate supplies for
keeping plant operational.

Monitor preventative maintenance activities.
-
Evaluate the purchase of capital equipment and provide input to
Capital Plan.

Participate in required meetings including PACE, Safety and
Environmental.

Monitor and insure facility and equipment comply with all federal,
state, and local codes.

Monitor and manage energy savings activities.
-
Manage plant repairs & supplies budget and maintenance labor.

Develop and manage plant capital budget items.
To be successful and happy in this role, a combination of education,

during the first quarter of 2012.
We will be developing innovative ways of producing aluminum
products for our customers, which include the auto industry. There is
an immediate opening for a Technologist with coatings experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties will involve specialist technical work aimed at solving
technical operating problems, improving processes, and developing
products or characterizing materials behavior.
Within a larger project team, this role will be given
individual responsibility to design and carry out specific, key
programs or work with a scope and complexity determined by knowledge
and experience.
Successful candidates will have broad practical experience of
experimental techniques and/or methods aligned to the application,
processing and evaluation of polymer coatings on metal surfaces,
preferably on aluminum.
They will have strong communication skills, both orally and written,
and will be able to conduct and report on their work with minimal
supervision. A flexible
response to evolving projects needs and the ability to thrive in a
team environment will be key assets.
At times, technologists may be asked to act as a company-wide
resource in their area of expertise.

- Perform a
variety of engineering assignments to improve manufacturing

Responsibilities include analyzing and planning work
force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designing
layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Lead and
participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
Consult with management, engineering, and other staff
regarding production capabilities, production schedules, and
other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Support daily
manufacturing operations (troubleshoot and resolve problems with
equipment while in production).
Examine equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to
determine time and quality revisions, and suggests improvements.
- Knowledgeable
of production flow and capable of logically developing and
planning within this flow that correctly and efficiently builds
products. Demonstrated abilities in developing and executing
statistical process control for manufacturing is required.

production members, company engineers, staff and supervisors to

RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY:

The incumbent will be responsible for
implementation of systemic improvements to drive the company’s
competitive position through process standardization, research and
implementation of new technology involving, pre-treatment, powder
& liquid application of cosmetic sensitive product.

criteria. ° Knowledge and experience with coatings formulations,
understanding the functions of coatings components and their
performance against desired criteria is required. ° Experience with

skills in paint system design, layout, and operating parameters. °
Project management is required; PE preferred for some assignments.
