Hang Methods, Hook/Rack Cleaning and Line Density
 Bill Oney, Therma-Tron-X

This session will cover all types of hooks and options for the end user. Discussions will include everything from basic S hooks to complex fixtures used in robotic applications. Bill will discuss considerations for design to promote performance and ergonomics and save money. Case studies will be discussed with examples of improved tooling projects. We will discuss tooling justifications and designs for improved storage and how the wrong design can lead to additional costs.

Pretreatment Mechanics and Chemistries
Presenter: Larry Ensley, Hubbard-Hall

Pretreatment prior to paint or powder is a vital step in the surface finishing process. Having the correct equipment and latest pretreatment chemistry can provide increased corrosion protection and better paint adhesion. It can also help reduce energy requirements, waste treatment costs, labor and water consumption.  This webinar will briefly discuss the equipment requirements ranging from manual spray wand to multi-stage applications. There will also be a comparison of the two most popular pretreatment chemistries on the market, iron phosphate and zirconium.

Dry-off Ovens and Cool-Down Methods presented by Tony Scoville, Therma-Tron-X

Attendees will learn the principles and best practices of heating and cooling various sub-straits as it pertains to maintaining a quality finish. This will include general criteria on sizing and designing dry-off ovens and cooling.

Flash-off Zones for Liquid and Curing Ovens presented by Sam Woehler, George Koch Sons

Flash requirements for types of liquid paints and types of paint application, such as wet-on-wet application. Common problems associated with incorrect flash design will be addressed as well as an overview of ovens and curing equipment including convection, infrared, convection/IR combination, and ultraviolet.  Sam will also review some typical problems associated with improper cure.

Webinar 3 Topics -  September 13, 2017:

Coating Materials for Liquid and Powder presented by Dan Szczepanik, Sherwin-Williams

Learn how to choose the best method for maintaining a quality finish and achieving consistent results Through real world examples, learn how to choose the correct product for the job and how to establish the right quality controls to improve your production process and product quality.

Application Techniques for Liquid and Powder presented by John Owed & Eric Fritz, Carlisle Fluid Technologies

This presentation will cover the fundamentals of the electrostatic process including; applicator, coating resistivity, substrate grounding.  Attendees will hear about equipment application variables such as how to adjust spray pattern and select starting point for application parameters.  This session will also review application techniques and optimizing the coating process.
