Join the CCAI Puget Sound chapter for their kick-off meeting!

Our presenter will be Hugo Cambron, Technical Service Representative with PPG Industries, Inc with over 33 years in the finishing industry.  He will discuss and review the layout for the correct process for testing coatings, either Liquid or Powder, where to fine the guidelines for proper testing for all OEM and Job Shops and how to make sure all results are documented.  

The presentations will illustrate equipment that is need it to accomplish this along with several basic tests used in the industry:

  • Cross hatch Adhesion(ASTM D3359)
  • Flexibility (ASTMD522)
  • Film-thickness (ASTMD1186 Ferrous ASTM D1400 Non Ferrous)
  • Gloss (ASTM523)
  • Impact Resistance (ASTM) D2794)
  • Datapaq cure
  • Immersion testing (ASTM D870, D1308)
  • Viscosity (ASTMD4212 ) Zahn Cup #2

We will also discuss and review long term testing that is required depending on the specification of end user, including:

  • Salt spray (ASTM B117)
  • Humidity
  • UV
  • Particle size
  • Abrasion Resistance

Bruce Bryan, CCAI's Vice President of Sales & Education with over 40 years in the finishing industry, will also present on the benefits of CCAI membership.  He will give an overview of who CCAI is and the value of joining.
