Holland Board of Public Works has completed their new Natural Gas Power Plant which produces electrical energy for the City of Holland Michigan along with some surrounding areas.  This new facility is not yet opened to the general public, but the West Michigan CCAI has been approved to tour.  Come visit their new welcome center and tour the plant floor, along with a peek into the control room which controls all of the plant operation.  Learn how this plant supports the downtown Holland snow melt system and why the plant runs more efficiently in the winter than the summer.  The plant has two Siemens SGT 800 Combustion Gas Turbines which generate approximately 50 megawatts of electricity each at 13,800 volts.  The plant also has one Siemens SST-400 Steam Turbine which produces approximately 45 megawatts of electricity.
