CCAI WI is excited to have Marty Sawyer of Trimac Industrial Systems present Art of the Cure & Infrared 101. 

A cured part is what everyone expects from a powder coating process. We all understand it is time and temperature. The technical data sheet for the powder is the recipe, right? It sounds so simple, but we all know it often is not, especially if you are a custom coater or doing heavy weldments. 
 
We will discuss the cure process from powder formulation and their impact, how the cure process actually happens, and convection and infrared ovens. We will discuss the varying processes of preheat, gel, boost, and cure as well as some best practices and some tricks to help you ensure your ideal cure. You will walk about with a better understanding of the cure process as well as when and how you might want to utilize infrared. 

Marty Sawyer is the CEO and owner of Trimac Industrial Systems, a heating and cleaning technologies company. Marty has been a driving force behind the education and promotion of the cost, quality and environmental benefits for the use of infrared for processing heating. Marty is also an active member of her local CCAI chapter.
