Special Notes: In February 1963, Foto Mark Inc. began operations in Eden Prairie, Minnesota specializing in painting and anodizing applications. Within eleven years Foto Mark’s business had expanded to include its second plant located in Mendota Heights, Minnesota which specialized in various paint applications. In August 1993, the company’s officers authorized the purchase of the assets of Electrostatic Finishing Inc. and renamed the company Applied Coating Technology Inc. In January 1994, the companies formally merged together. ACT joined Valmont Industries Inc. in January 2000, allowing us ready access to capital and a variety of internal resources that come with being part of a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company.
Valmont specializes in the manufacture of agriculture and infrastructure equipment, while providing industrial coatings services such as galvanizing, powder coating, anodizing, e-coating and liquid painting. Valmont has over 90 facilities world-wide and over 9000 employees, thereby allowing us to experience potentials of growth that would have exceeded our capabilities in years past. By 2004 we had consolidated all of our operations into the Mendota Heights facility where operations take place today.
