Tuesday, January 6, 2026
The Chemical Coaters Association International Finishing Education Foundation (CCAI FEF) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program. Over the past several years, the program has awarded more than $100,000 to students enrolled in educational programs that could lead to a career in the industrial finishing industry.
Named in honor of CCAI’s first executive director, the Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program is designed to attract, support, and develop the next generation of finishing professionals. Two special awards fall under the umbrella of the program: the Jim Gallagher Award, a $5,000 scholarship, and the Bob Warren Award, a $2,500 scholarship supported by Sames.
“These scholarships are an investment in the future of our industry,” said Sheila LaMothe, executive director of the CCAI Finishing Education Foundation. “By supporting students who are pursuing education that aligns with industrial finishing and coatings, we are helping to build a skilled, knowledgeable workforce while opening doors to meaningful, long-term careers. The scholarship program is one of the most impactful ways we fulfill our mission.”
Qualified application packages will be reviewed by the CCAI FEF Board of Directors. Award amounts vary, are determined by the Board of Directors, and are sent directly to the recipient’s academic institution. Applicants must submit a completed application, transcript or other grade verification, essay, reference letter, and resume. The application deadline is April 10, 2026.
