The year 2025 represented a historic period in terms of the activities of the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI)’s Capítulo en Español, due to the large number of events that were held, their magnitude, and the significant impact they had on the industry. Supporting a year of great results, behind the scenes of this chapter, we find a highly respected and admired board of directors in the industry, comprised of professionals who demonstrate in every idea, project, and action their ability to work as a team, with loyalty and selflessness, achieving for the CCAI what they do best in their respective companies: successful growth through proactive collaboration through direct value-added contributors. During 2025, more than a thousand participants attended events and the 9 webinars held throughout the year, coming from Mexico, Ecuador, Spain, Colombia, United States, Canada, Qatar, Venezuela, Argentina, United Kingdom, Portugal, France, Saudi Arabia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, El Salvador, Honduras, among other countries. In collaboration with the CCAI Northern California Chapter, the first in-person training session in Spanish for professionals in the finishing industry in the United States was held, an event that marks a milestone in the collaboration between chapters. At the FABTECH Mexico 2025 event, held in Monterrey, Mexico, the CCAI Capítulo en Español was responsible for promoting and supporting the Surface Finishing exhibit section, which was a great success in terms of both the number of attendees and the quality of the exhibitors. During FABTECH Mexico 2025, the most influential industry event in Mexico, the chapter held its in-person Board of Directors meeting. The chapter also supported CCAI’s annual in-person Powder Coating training event in Mexico, which was attended by more than 80 participants over two days. Finally, for the second consecutive year, they hosted an in-person industry leaders’ summit, bringing together the most influential professionals in the surface finishing industry in Mexico, with attendance exceeding the organizers’ expectations. Aware of the need to attract future industry professionals by stimulating interest in professional specialization, various events and activities were held at several faculties of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), and other technical and high education institutions. The Capítulo en Español continues to work on forging partnerships to deliver conferences and training sessions throughout North America, thanks to the significant influence of its members in the academic community, government, and professional associations. For the second consecutive year, members of the chapter participated in the exclusive Women in Finishing 2025 event, which this time took place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. The presence of women specialists in the surface finishing industry continues to grow, highlighting their value as direct contributors of technical expertise to the industry. The Annual Meeting of the Chemical Coaters Association International, held in Sun Valley, Idaho, USA, was attended by the chapter president along several chapter members, making it one of the most well-represented delegations. During the CCAI Annual Meeting, the National Board of Directors convenes to review the association’s overall plans and support for all its chapters, as well as to organize high-level conferences and activities for attendees, all of whom are members. The Spanish Chapter of the CCAI received an invitation from the Cámara de Joyería de Jalisco®️ (Jalisco State Chamber of Jewelry) to participate in the first «Shine with Precision» Workshop, which took place at the Expo Guadalajara facilities, in Guadalajara, México. The chapter actively supported the event, ensuring its resounding success. The ribbon cutting speech of the event was given by a chapter board member. To conclude 2025, in November, the Capítulo en Español, per formal request, supported the efforts leaded by Nordson México along some of the leading companies in the surface finishing industry in México, like TTX México, George Koch México, AkzoNobel, BASF Chemetall, Henkel México, Vitracoat, and Helmut Fischer, to support the 1st Practical Powder Coating Seminar, which took place in Querétaro, México, at the most advanced and comprehensive laboratory in Latin America. Over two days, specialists from the forementioned companies shared their knowledge on pretreatment, powder coating, thickness measurement, system, and oven design, and all the technology related to spray booths and application equipment. This event, as every event held, was covered and supported by specialized media like La Revista del Color MX and Business 4.0®, whose both media editors are active members of the Capítulo Español and proactive supporters of its efforts. The attendees at this event were characterized by belonging to highly prestigious companies in the country (end users) and by being leading specialists in their respective fields, participating proactively and positively. This transformed the seminar into a very high-level event, thanks to the quality of the topics presented, the questions asked, and the added value of the networking opportunities, which aimed to ensure the success of all those present. The last webinar of the year, held by the end of November, featured a specialist from Spain who shared with attendees the current situation and technical requirements of the surface finishing industry in Europe. This allowed participants to assess the requirements in their own regions and gain a better understanding of the requirements for products they export to Europe, as well as the specific needs of their European customers. The webinar received very positive feedback from both attendees and corporate members. In terms of membership, 2025 marked a historic year, as the number of members doubled, positioning the Capítulo en Español not only as one of the fastest growing but also among those with the largest membership and activity within the CCAI. The pillars that distinguish the members of this chapter are a commitment to the industry, active collaboration, and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of industry challenges. The focus is on addressing the industry’s needs, facilitating the feasibility of the ideas proposed by members, and ensuring direct added value in every project that impacts chapter members and industry users.
